I’m Nicole, the person behind Wild Ginger Creative, and here are a few things about me that don’t usually make it onto my About page.

My Business Name Has a Real Story Behind It

Wild Ginger Creative isn’t just a name I liked the sound of. It’s a nod to my naturally red, wildly curly hair, which has genuinely never once done what I asked it to. I’ve made peace with it. Mostly.

I Didn’t Start Out in Design

Before I became a brand and website designer, I had a degree in art history and spent years working in museums, galleries, and marketing. It wasn’t a straight line to where I am now, but every step of it taught me something about how people connect with visual storytelling, which is honestly most of what branding is.

A Few Other Stops Along the Way

• Worked as an executive assistant (turns out, deadlines and details don’t scare me)
• Completed a graphic design certification to build real skills behind the passion
• Redesigned my own business three separate times before I felt ready to help other people with theirs

I’m an Introvert Who Loves Deep Conversations

People are sometimes surprised by this, since running a client-facing business seems like an extrovert’s game. But some of my favorite parts of this job are the quiet, one-on-one conversations during a project, the kind where a client says something offhand about their business that ends up shaping the whole brand.

“Your process is unmatched, and the reason is your personal connection.” — one of my favorite things a client has ever told me, and honestly the whole reason I do this work the way I do.

Why I Love Being a Brand and Website Designer for Therapists Specifically

My favorite part of any project isn’t the final reveal, it’s the strategy phase. Long before a single color or font gets chosen, I love digging into who someone actually is and who they’re trying to reach. For therapists especially, that strategy work matters even more, since your website is often a new client’s very first impression of what it might feel like to work with you. And while therapists hold a special place in my heart, I love working with any service-based small business owner, if your work is built on trust and connection, we’re probably a great fit too.

When I’m Not Designing

You’ll find me tending my garden, camping in the mountains, or spending slow weekend mornings with my family here in Salt Lake City.
